Happy Six Sentence Sunday! This week I'm sharing more from my latest Ellora's Cave erotic contemporary release, Heart Signs, which came out 2/3. In this scene, Sam and Rory just bumped fenders and he asks her to come back to his apartment to exchange information...and maybe more. ;) Hope you enjoy!

Rory tentatively gassed her sedan as the cars lurched forward. They’d just had a car accident—a minor one, true—and he hadn’t taken her info yet. If he had, the jig would’ve been up.

And she would’ve continued to wonder about Sam, as she had wondered for the past two years.

An honorable person would tell him who she was, but that would ruin the mystique. Anyone could see the shadows gathered in his haunted dark eyes, and if she could give him a respite from his ghosts for an hour or two, she would.

Sam checked out her earrings, decided the giant silver triangles definitely qualified as big. She’d left out that her eyes were the color of storm clouds and that her cheeks had the rosy glow of a skin care commercial.

So he’d finally met Rory Fowler. She’d sucker-punched him twice now. First with her voice, now with her everything.

He wrenched open his car door without sparing her another glance and said, “Follow me.”

“You free?” Sam finished, hoping he sounded less idiotic than he felt.

What an insane question. He’d never be free again, not completely. And here he was asking a total stranger if she happened to be something that sounded so impossibly wonderful that his breath stumbled. What he wouldn’t give for freedom or to forget, just for a little while. Maybe, just maybe, she could give him that.

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! This week I'm sharing a bit from my latest Ellora's Cave erotic contemporary release, Heart Signs, which came out this past Friday. In this scene, Sam and Rory just bumped fenders...and find themselves in deep, fast. ;) Hope you enjoy!

“If you want to exchange information, I live eight blocks from here. 16 Kimchee Road,” Sam said, his gaze trained on her face. Any hesitation and he’d back away. Get in his car, drive back to his apartment and take out his frustration on his punching bag.

But there was only interest. Only fascination turning her remarkable eyes from mist gray to the ashen color of the smoke that pumped out from the exhaust when an engine was burning oil.
