Around...sort of

I haven't doing my blog rounds as much as I should be lately, but hopefully I'll have a finished story to show for it soon. My current ms, All Summer Long, was supposed to be a 10K Quickie for Ellora's Cave. It's now 32K and not nearly done yet. I've also planned two Quickie stories to go with it, featuring some of the side characters. Consequently, I've been busy. I also received my cover for Personal Research, which I'll be posting soon. It's delicious, as all of EC's covers are.

So I leave you with a question...have you ever had a story where the characters would just not shut up and demanded to have their way with you in a much longer format than you'd originally planned? I'd love to hear your thoughts!

I think that all characters would do that if you let them. In my case, they never want to shut up!

I'm glad you're getting some writing done. CG on the new stories and the new releases!

Yes, it's happening right now with my cougar story. Granted not as much as you...I'm currently 3k over target.
I think you just have to roll with them. :)

Congrats on getting some writing done.

Yes---honestly I don't know if I can write short anymore. LOL I try, I really do but something else always comes up, I romanticize my characters a little sometimes, so I don't want to let them go, or be short changed. LOL

You have been an extremely busy girl! I am super impressed and inspired by how much you have going on. And on a side note, it was lovely to meet you last week. *sniff* I miss the US.

I rarely, if ever have a say in the length of my books, thus I've long since realized who's boss in the relationship - my characters of course :)
Love that you're super busy, means more of Ms. Quinn :)

I tend to write longer so it's an ongoing battle for me. I'm glad you're getting lots of writing done. :)

I try not to set a limit on a story, I can always go back and hack out the stuff that's not needed later.
My characters tend to lead me to a place where I just have to do the next story.
Honestly out of everything I've written only two are single stories with no temptation to do a second.

Can't wait to see the cover!

I do understand not being in blogland as much as you'd like. I've been absent way more than I want lately as well.

Oh, characters haunt me a lot. Problem is I don't have time to listen like I need to do!

You mean that doesn't happen with every story. *scratches head* I didn't think there was any other way to write. lol

When I first got the glimmer of the idea for Forbidden, I thought it was going to be a novella - my characters had very different ideas on that one!!!

My characters do that, Cari. In my upcoming novella, WHAT SHE NEEDS, they took about 5,000 words more than I expected for them to resolve their differences. I love it when the characters tell me what they want!
