Welcome paranormal romance author Dee Tenorio!

I'm super excited to have the most awesome Dee Tenorio back on my blog today. She's a repeat offender...I mean guest...here, and she always brings the fun with her. I'm a total fangirl when it comes to her writing and as for her web design skillz, look around! All the work of the multi-talented Mz. Tenorio. She's been burning up Carina's most popular lists with her Resurrection series, and I'm not the least bit surprised. I can't wait to read both books!

Here's Dee...and be sure to show her some love!

More Than A Growl...

I've been asked recently—several times since the release of "Deceiving The Protector" actually—why I chose to write paranormal romance. And, as you can guess, there are some stock answers that most authors give.

"I love the danger of a shifter." Or, "Animal Magnetism is a powerful draw to tie into." Or even, "Dude, shifters are HAWT!!"

But in my few spare bits of time, I do occasionally ask myself the same question. Why do I like writing paranormals so much?

Well, without question, it has to be the fantasy of the shifters. I always wanted to be able to do something extraordinary, like turn into an animal or control the wind or have magic at my fingertips. Most of the time, I have to suffice myself with finding a little magic in the keys of my computer—though I will admit that when the magic happens, boy does it shine!

But I also think it's because I love the idea of forever commitments. Paranormals tend to have relationships that are for the rest of their lives. In fact, my own shifters bond to the point that if one dies, the other dies with them—bonded body and soul. (What can I say, I like to make things REALLY final, lol)

But at the core of it, I just keep thinking that I write paranormals because it's the ultimate escape. You can be light or dark, suspenseful or comedic. Mysterious or over the top. There's no promise of reality and that means you can—as a writer or a reader—completely let go and buy into the story with no fetters to reality. And nothing is more fun than being totally free. :)

That's me, anyway. How about all of you? Are you fans of paranormal? Have you ever considered your attraction to the genre? What brings you back, time and time again?

The mate he never wanted may be the woman he can never have...

After a series of murders is discovered along the trail of the Shifter Underground, wolf soldier Jensen Tate is assigned to find and protect a missing stray. But Lia Crawford doesn't seem to want his protection. When she eludes his watch and returns with mysterious injuries, Tate knows she's hiding something. To discover her secrets, he'll have to win her trust...and get closer to the woman he thinks may be his mate.

Lia has reasons to keep her distance. The killer is haunting her steps, determined to claim her. Looks like a great book, Dee.
Dang, that's a lovely cover.

I'm writing a paranormal right now. I like the freedom, that's for sure. ;)

I love paranormals for a lot of the same reasons you listed, and yeah, shifters have to be one of my favorites in the genre. There's a thrill of being able to have THE alpha male, or the big bad wolf at your hero/heroine's door, and being able to 'tame' them.

Great guest post, and congrats to Dee Tenorio on the new release!
