This year's New Year's was great. I just hung out with my sister and 2 of her kids. We watched a zombie marathon on tv and just goofed off. It would have been even better if her 17 year old had been there, but she was with her boyfriend, lol.

I already posted my fave on my blog, but this year was nice. Just snuggling up for an early night with my other half after a week of broken nights courtesy of our youngest being poorly!

Every New Year's for the last five years because it's when I married my hubby. :)

Going to grab me this new book.

The new year's memory I love the most is when my then boyfriend proposed to me. It had pretty much been the worst day ever and that totally just turned it on it's ear. The only day that beats it is my wedding day :)

Most of my New Year's revolve around my family. I've always enjoyed being with my family. I don't have any big time memory to write about.

Nothing really memorable, but a good time anyway...just spent it with family, watching TV and having some snacks, not even an alcoholic drink since I was trying to get over a cold ;}

I went to a CD release concert this year to support the band (and hey, we were on the CD as well, though you'd never be able to single out our voices, which is a good thing, in my case anyway) :) richnkathy718 (at) msn (dot) com

I have never been one to stay awake to bring in the New Year - but when I was 21 years old, my best friend drug me out with her husband and friends to a pub to a New Year's Eve party that was really quite fun, so I'd have to choose that one, since it was my only experience *chuckle*

My New years memory was watching my Mom perform an old German custom she learned from her Mom. Have champagne in one hand & pickled herring in another( yes, I know it’s gross). At 12 am, eat the herring and chase it with the champagne. It’s an old wives tale that is supposed to bring luck all thru the year.

I don't really have a favorite New Years Eve memory, I usually spend them with family and they are pretty quiet. We usually have a nice meal, prepare a bunch of snacks, watch movies all night or play games and then toast in the New Year at midnight. That's how I've spent the last decade or so...lol

One of my fav New Year’s Eve was when I was in the Navy and me and my roommates invited about 100 people over and they all showed up and brought more guests. It was everything you can imagine it would of having that many sailors in one place. It wasn’t much longer after many of us shipped out to Iraq.

This year the husband and I had a quiet evening at home to bring in the new year. We spent Dec 26-30 in New Orleans. While we were there, we took a couple of plantation tours and a haunted vampire tour in the French Quarter. On all of these tours, they mentioned where scenes from Interview with a Vampire were filmed. Since the husband and I hadn't seen Interview with a Vampire, we watched it on NYE. It was fun to notice the place we had seen in the movie. After the movie we watched the ball drop, drank some port and went to bed.

We usually spend the evening inside with family and friends, lots of good eats...playing cards (poker) and listening to music until the ball's about to drop. Then the wine is poured, toasts made, kisses shared...and then the party usually continues for a little while longer. Those that drank a little too much, or came without a designated driver snuggle in for the night...that's just how we play. Better safe than sorry. :) Happy 2012!

Every year, my best friend and her husband throw a massive NYE party. After almost everyone leaves, I sit around with some of my best friends, (we don't see each other nearly as much as we'd like to),and we just talk about the year just passed, good memories -- it's just a wonderful way to celebrate, and we've made it an annual ritual.

Thanks for the giveaway and have a Happy New Year!

My favorite memory is actually a tradition that takes place in my home country of Brazil. For New Years, the color of your clothing represents what you want for the new year. For example, many Brazilians wear white for peace and inner calm, but you see a few wearing red for passion or pink for love, some wear green in hopes of earning more that year as well. Every year i'm excited to see what colors people decide to wear on New Years, and I love getting together at the end of the year to see if their wishes came true.

Thanks for the great opportunity. My New Year's have all been pretty tame and spent in the company of family and friends. We have people from out of town, usually family visiting from Mexico. We do the grapes and certain other traditions, depending on what we want to focus for that year. It's all about new beginnings.
