It's subbed!
I finished my "quickie" novella and sent it in, so that means I officially have 3 things on submission right now. I've never had more than 2 in circulation before, so this is big news. This novella ended up at 25K, my shortest story yet. I keep trying to write them under 15K, but I'm a wee bit wordy. ;) From start to finish, this story took 5 weeks to write and edit. I'm very excited and hopeful that it will be well-received!
So why the cat photo? Well, A) I love cats and B) I'm imagining that's a happy meow rather than an angry one, though truthfully that photo could go either way. ;)
Now it's time to go to the next in my stack of WIPs. I have, uh, a lot of them. Apparently that I read ten books at a time means I also have to write ten at once, too (well, I'm not writing ten, but close, LOL.)
Do you work on more than one book at a time?

Oh, yes.
I have two subbed, one needing a rewrite before I re-sub (one of those we like this but aren't offering a contract yet...)
3 WIP that I will get to as soon as I rewrite the above. : )
So to answer your question: Yes, I do work on more than one book at a time, but I can only really concentrate on one at a time. I'd never polish two manuscripts.
: 0 )
Congrats Cari!!! **LOVES**
I've had 2 stories under sub at a time, and it is crazy! But don't worry, you're going to do great!
Congrats!
Fingers crossed for you, Cari. You sure are more productive than I am!
WHOOOHOOO!!! I'm so glad you got it out and sub'd, CP!
Hmmm. You know I work at least 2 stories at a time. WIP's--what? I'm up to 4 in book form and an online story? LOL
I'm with you girl. LOL believe me.
Oh and on my cleaning spree, I found a notebook with ANOTHER trilogy in it. LOL
Sickness.
Good luck! Hope they get picked up! I write more than one at a time. Anywhere from 2-5. Yeah. CRAZY but if I stall on a storyline... I just jump to another one until I have fresh eyes to come back to it.
I'm so proud of you. Another out! You rock. I am inspired by you Ms Cari--truly.
Uhh I'm not sure I should answer that, LOL --yes I have a bad bad habit of working on at least three stories at a time, I'm trying to cull it down especially as I write my rom-susp. LOL
Well done chicka.
Congratulations on getting that sub out. I routinely have more than one thing on the go and like to have several subs out at once as well. At the moment I have nothing out since I keep selling them. ;)
I'm still getting that first story written. And the men won't cooperate long enough for me to get thingsd in gear. I think it'll go in one direction, they want to take it another way totally.
CG tho!
I do work on several wips at a time, but I don't like to sub more than one. It would make me too crazed if, like Catherine B. Shelley M. or Helen H. I got several contracts at once.
Good luck to you Cari! That's really a lot of writing you are doing!
Woot! congrats on getting that baby out the door! Hope you don't have to wait too long for the good news!
And no, I can't work on more than one book at a time, my brain would totally fry!!
Hi Cari,
Congrats on getting your sub out! 3 huh? That's really amazing. How much do you have to have written for a work to be classified as a WIP? I have 34 'story ideas' documented in varying degrees. Some are a paragraph and others are up to 15K words. I try to only work on one WIP at a time, but sometimes a scene, dialogue or character trait from something in the idea file, will hit me. I have to get it down. Right? Once I do, I'll get back to the current WIP. At the moment, it's the first time I've actively worked on 2 things at once, although 1 is a novella which gives some relief from the longer work. I'm not sure if it's more efficient that way or not!
HI Cari!
Congrats, lady!!! I'm so excited for you!! Best wishes!!
I'm very linear. I know that if I start another book now I'll never finish! lol Short attention span. Maybe one day I'll tackle more than one (now why does that sound dirty lol), but for now I have to keep it very, very simple. *heehee*
I really admire authors who can write more than one WIP at a time! Such focus is awesome! I'm so jealous! :)
Congratulations!! xoxo
looks like a bawdy victory yawp to me!
I work on a kajillion things at once. mostly two books or so and a bunch of various length shorts. i guess because i can't handle being calm. or patient.
good luck and yay you!
xoxo

Congrats on having three things out for submission!
I always work on more than one project at a time, it's just easier for me to keep them fresh that way.
