After what had to be the longest pause in
conversational history, Kiki blew out a breath. “I guess you heard me say I
haven’t had a date in…a while.”
“Three years isn’t a while,” Vincent said, clearing his throat as she tucked some napkins into his
chili dog tray. See, she cared - she wanted to ensure he had a tidy meal. “I thought
you might appreciate some companionship, as would I,” he added.
Would he ever.
