First Author Interview...and h/h from Damned

This week's goals: To complete editing VT, finish writing Query and Synopsis and get them in the mail. Finally!

Thanks for everyone's congratulations for finishing VT last week! I'm in hardcore editing mode tonight, under a strict deadline to get the bleeping thing out the door.

But ideas are percolating for my next full length project, my Urban Fantasy, Damned. Shea's an empathic former nun who can connect with the dead, and Gabe's a murdered rockstar stuck in Purgatory who needs to save human souls to finally save his own. I found Shea while watching TV tonight, and her name is Christina Hendricks. Apparently, she stars on Mad Men, though I don't watch much TV, so I had no clue. For Gabe, I picked the late Michael Hutchence of INXS, the perfect broody singer to inspire my own.

Here are a couple pics for your viewing pleasure. See what you think!

Monday, March 23rd is my first author interview. Michelle Rowen, fantastic author of paranormal romances and YAs, along with writing futuristic romantic suspense as Michelle Maddox, will be stopping by to answer a few of my questions. Best of all, she'll be giving away a copy of Stakes & Stilettos, her fabulous March 31st release, to a lucky commenter! Please stop by!

Week recap and goals for week ending 2/8

It's a new week, and a new month!

In spite of myself, I managed to make about half my goals this week. I wrote/revised another 17.5 pgs of VT, met my internet challenge, and did some reading for pleasure. The goals I didn't meet I'm resolving to do this week.

This week's goals:

-Write/revise another 20 pages of VT
-Repeat my internet challenge Mon-Thurs. (only 45 mins. a day, after that day's writing work is done)
-To finally finish my 2 pg. VT synopsis! (maybe the third time I've pledged to do this will be the charm, LOL)

Bonus goals:

-Organize my email/writing folders
-Work on my short, Type Dirty To Me

Wish me luck...and send espresso! ;)

Goals for week ending 2/1

Another 5 pages of VT written today. Can I say how happy I'll be to be done with this story, no matter how much I love Kiki and Vincent? But they need to find their way into the world now and leave me alone. ;)

Goals for the week -

- Finish VT synopsis, so that it's polished and ready to go
- Write/revise another 20 pages of VT
- Limit online time to 45 minutes Mon-Thurs, after all writing related stuff is done

Bonus Goals
- To organize email/writing folders
- To spend a couple hours reading...for pleasure, and for brain food.

That's pretty much it. Here we go!

Sunday 1/18 Progress

So far today, I've edited about a chapter and a half of VT. So I'm halfway finished with half of my regular weekly goals. LOL But the night's young yet, so we'll see what shakes loose before I head off to dreamland.

And to give everyone sweet dreams...

Weekly Goals

Tara and I decided to try something new to challenge ourselves to reach our goals. I know how well it has worked for Helen to make herself publicly accountable, so a new year's a good time to start doing something similar. So in lieu of my promised yearly goals, instead I'll be posting every Sunday with that week's goals and each day with my daily progress. These goals can be anything to do with writing - research, judging writing contests, editing or critiquing someone else's work.

So without further adieu...
Weekly goals through January 24th

To judge my 4 contest entries by Monday
To revise another three chapters of VT, incorporating my CP's suggestions

Bonus Goal #1: To start roughing out my new synopsis for VT
Bonus Goal #2: To critique three chapters I owe one of my CPs

I'll be back later with today's progress!
